Job Statement:

Responsible to manage energy engineers and also participate in the development of energy conservation measure analyses for proposals, preliminary assessments, and comprehensive energy assessments that are the technical foundation for Energy-Based Performance Contracts and Energy Conservation Construction Projects.  In addition, responsible for managing the Measurement and Verification process for customers that are in the Guarantee phase of the Performance Contract.

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate utility bill analyses
  • Develop benchmarking comparisons
  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive site surveys
  • Develop preliminary savings and cost estimates
  • Assist in developing comprehensive building analyses
  • Interface with contractors to establish final costs
  • Develop spreadsheets to present results of audits
  • Develop project cash flows
  • Prepare final PEAs and CEAs
  • Stay within budgeted allocations for projects
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations
  • Research new products and provide input to others
  • Research new funding opportunities
  • Provide M&V support
  • Provide timely, accurate, relevant information to the General Manager
  • Provide supervision/leadership to energy engineers
  • Provide support to other SmartEdge personnel and overall sales efforts
  • Measurement and verification of energy savings.
  • Oversee M&V process

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 4 year engineering degree required.
  • Professional engineering licensure preferred.
  • CEM certification preferred; LEED certification preferred.
  • Experience with and knowledge of HVAC systems and temperature controls, electrical systems, lighting system design required.
  • Experience performing utility bill analyses required.
  • Experience performing building audits including, but not limited, to HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, electrical systems, and building envelope, required.
  • Experience using test equipment including, but not limited to, combustion analyzers, power factor meters, digital multi-meters, data loggers, ultrasonic testers, anemometers, and air volume testing equipment.
  • Experience estimating equipment installation costs.
  • Experience writing project specifications.
  • Excellent computer skills required; Ability to create spreadsheets and databases.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Energy Analysis Software for measurement and verification.
  • Experience with building simulation software.
  • Experience in completing ASHRAE levels 1, 2, & 3 energy audits.
  • Experience in the implementation of measurement and verification protocols for energy performance contracts.
