Job Description


 

Qualifications include, but are not limited to:

Key Task: Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports, processing daily task, isolating issues, researching problems and preforming reconciliation processes as needed.
Accountant Job Duties:
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
• Posts customer payments by recording checks, credit card and ACH transactions
• Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions
• Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information as applicable
• Maintains records of invoices, debits, and credits
• Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from the various departments, and when appropriate from customers
• Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries
• Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures
• Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; contact with the customer accounting department for payment
• Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements for certain credit cards and hotels when applicable
• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
• Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Skills/Qualifications: Accounting, Corporate Finance, Reporting Skills, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Reporting Research Results, SFAS Rules, Confidentiality, Time Management, Data Entry Management, General Math Skills
Preferred: BA in Accounting with 5 plus years hands-on experience with small business 5m to 50m
