Job Description

Ryan Companies is hiring for an exciting opportunity as a Web Developer/Designer to work as part of a collaborative team environment in developing and designing Ryan’s intranet site as well as Ryan’s external website. This position will be primarily tasked with translating web page redesign, UX prototypes and functional specifications into front-end implementations through a combination of visual web design and front-end development. This position will consult with clients to concept branded experiences built on the platform and perform a variety of internal design tasks.

Responsibilities include plan site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality; develop site content and graphics by coordinating with major stakeholders designing images, icons, banners, etc.; prepare site by installing and configuring server software, upgrade site by updating content and graphics; maintain site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; keep equipment operating and perform preventative maintenance.

Successful candidates will have strong problem-solving skills, be resourceful and motivated, possess ability to create superior quality visual designs while honoring business requirements and platform constraints, adapt quickly to varying timelines and project requirements, and be able to work with the Ryan Team in assessing brand standards and design needs. Must have a minimum of a two-year technical degree in IT, Web Design, Web Development, or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred. In addition to education, candidates must have at least 5-7 years relevant experience as web experience designer and front end developer. Strong knowledge of common front-end technologies, especially HTML, CSS and jQuery is required. Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with content management systems is highly preferred. Experience designing mobile and responsive interfaces is also strongly preferred.
