Control Air Conditioning Corporation is looking for a Chief Estimator with a minimum of 15 years of estimating experience in the HVAC industry. This individual must have a track record of success in managing multiple large project pursuits simultaneously. In addition, they must have excellent organizational and time management skills along with estimating software experience (Quickpen & Bluebeam).
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare estimates and proposals.
- Thoroughly review front ends and specifications for scope or pricing impact items.
- Obtain and evaluate material, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
- Prepare conceptual estimates for budgeting projects
- Able to communicate, schedule, analyze information, and take responsibility for estimating duties.
- Review bid documents for potential conflicts and constructability issues.
- Experienced with supervising and coordinating personnel in assembling estimates.
- Communicate with the client, gather all necessary data, and analyze all information in order to assemble complete project cost.
- Confer with general contractors/construction managers, engineers, and designers on changes or adjustments for estimates.
- Prepare value engineering and voluntary alternate opportunities and pricing.
- Follow company procedures for communication, dialogue, timesheets, and assembling of estimates.
- Develop and maintain cost databases.
- Research and assemble company historical data information and spreadsheets.
- Strong teamwork oriented traits.
- Mentor and train estimators and takeoff personnel.
Required Characteristics:
- Must have a strong work ethic and a “can-do” problem solving attitude.
- Must be an excellent listener and communicator.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- 15+ years in the HVAC industry and 10 years as a senior or chief estimator.
- Bachelor degree or higher is required (construction-related field is preferred).
- Must present a strong, confident and professional image.
- Knowledge of California Building Code and OSHPD requirements.
