Comfort Systems USA- Ohio is a national leader in the mechanical systems and services industry and has been a full-service HVAC and facility automation/security contractor since 1979, providing our commercial, industrial and institutional customers with engineering, construction, design, maintenance, repair, building automation, and security options for facility operations.
We are seeking highly motivated/customer oriented, candidate to join a team of experienced personnel as a Service Manager and some account management with a dynamic company.
This individual, using knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipe-fitting and mechanical layouts, is responsible for supervising service technicians who accomplish the repair, retrofit or replacement of environment comfort systems. The position requires extensive knowledge of the HVAC service industry and is responsible for developing (and training) HVAC Field Technicians and technician productivity.
Job Duties:
- Responsible For:
- Profit and Loss of the Field Team.
- Service Agreements contracted obligations to be completed on time.
- Profitability improvement to Service Agreements.
- Training and developing HVAC Field Technicians.
- Safety Jobsite Inspections.
- Technician Vehicle Safety Inspections.
- Fifty percent (50%) of this position’s time will be spent with Field Technicians and Customers.
- Supports HVAC Field Technicians by providing technical advice and offering guidance.
- Improves team performance by training and developing Service Technicians.
- Supervises jobs by reviewing technicians’ work and maintaining records.
- Assists in scheduling, organizing, and dispatching HVAC Field Technicians.
- Represents Company by serving as a direct customer contact.
- Serves customers by answering questions, responding to special requests and helping them make key buying decisions.
- Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear, and scheduling and completing preventive maintenance work.
- Prepares for on-site installations and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work as necessary.
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
- Consolidates reference information by collecting, organizing and assembling data for reports, presentations, and/or special projects.
- Uses smart phone and computers.
- Evaluates area safety needs/requirements to provide feedback and recommendations to service technicians and assists in the implementation of safety policies, procedures, inspections, and training.
- Works with ComfortCare Representative to contact responsible parties for purposes of securing renewal of service contracts.
- Safety Jobsite Inspections.
- Identifies potential opportunities with existing and new customers.
- Responds to customer needs by identifying needs, generating quotes and closing orders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, reviewing, and terminating technicians with the help of the VP of Service.
- Directly supervises service technicians in the Service Department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Plans, assigns and directs work of technicians.
- Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines technicians.
- Addresses complaints and resolving problems from the field or from external customers.
Qualifications:
- To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience:
- Must have knowledge of various HVAC products, systems, electronics, and pneumatic controls.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning;
- Five (5) years experience at the HVAC Technician-Journeyman level.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid Driver's License
- EPA approved Universal Technician Certification
