Job Statement: Manage installation of Automation & Mechanical-HVAC assigned projects within cost estimates, time schedule, and to the customers satisfaction on small-mid size projects. Support Senior Project Managers on projects as required.

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a plan (utilizing scheduling software) on complex projects to accomplish the expected result and meet commitments.
  • Consistently complete assignments within (or better than) the estimated time allotted.
  • Provide leadership to others in the organization.
  • Verify that the HVAC and control systems are working correctly and efficiently at project close out. Establish warranty dates with customer.
  • Verify customer satisfaction with work performed.
  • Regular review and update of project costs.
  • Insure customers know how to operate the system.  Providing limited on-site customer training or coordinate with SmartEdge Training Center.
  • Identify, book, plan, coordinate, and execute change order opportunities. Work with Sales on quoting complex projects.
  • Coordinate all Contractor, Subcontractor, Owner and Engineer issues.
  • Have regular interaction with Service Coordinator regarding Technicians schedules in an effort to accomplish all work efficiently and correctly the first time.
  • Coordinate the Application engineering, material procurement, software, and CTS.
  • Coordinate assigned Technicians to insure effective install and CTS on projects.
  • Generate monthly billings for each project.
  • Issue subcontracts and manage subcontractor schedules.
  • Maintain a positive cash flow on each project. Resolve billing/invoicing issues as required.
  • Prepare punch lists as required.
  • Provide O&M, As Builts and all close out paperwork timely.
  • Warranty issue resolution as required.
  • Perform job wrap up analysis and review with all individuals on job.
  • Assist with project related collection issues

Education and Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of HVAC systems, the theory of component operation and overall system interaction.
  • Must have 2+ years of field experience working with various types of systems.
  • Preferred 2 year AAS degree in mechanical or electrical field
  • Member of PMI, with at least one PMI certification helpful or a professional organization related to the Energy or Construction field helpful but not required.
