Job Statement:

It is the responsibility of this department to produce superior control designs for all types of control system.  Proper documentation of all developed application for reuse on other projects and the understanding and use of SmartEdge Engineering standards and best practices is mandatory.  It is imperative that all assigned tasks are completed in accordance to the time schedule, meeting and exceeding the expectations of both internal and external customers.

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Attend Kick-off Meetings assisting in information gathering as well as helping obtain job specifications, mechanical drawings and HVAC equipment submittals.
  • Complete Engineering take offs, (valve take offs, Power Distribution layouts and topology layouts).Outline and estimate major tasks, provide variance reports, meet and/or exceed commitments.
  • Develop applications and drawings for non-standard controllers using current tools.
  • Be able to work with computers and learn to use software packages, understand the industry DDC controllers and other highly technical equipment.
  • Communications with other employees, contractors and owners is a must. Keeping all informed.
  • Using company adopted Engineering tools- need to learn how to order materials from submittals.
  • Must be able to generate reports and forms for internal and external customers using company adopted Engineering tools and Engineering Practices.

Education and Experience:

  • 2 year engineering technical degree minimum; 4 year engineering degree preferred
  • 2 years technical or 5 years related experience
  • Must have an above average - expert knowledge of Windows
  • Need to obtain SmartEdge/Schneider Electric certification LonWorks
  • Need to obtain SmartEdge/Schneider Electric certification Workplace Tech/IA Controllers
  • Need to obtain SmartEdge/Schneider Electric certification Niagara FrameWorks
  • Need to obtain SmartEdge/Schneider Electric certification BACnet
