Position Summary:

Responsible for the management of production at our multi-million ton Bahamas quarry, including safety, quality control, grading and prestripping, drill and blasting, dragline mining, truck and loader operations, financial evaluation, asset protection, environmental control, permitting, mine engineering, short and long term planning and other production responsibilities as assigned by management.  Must be able to work effectively in order to accomplish the overall goals of the operation. Must be able to lead and manage a team of employees who have ownership of safety, quality, and production.   Ensure company mandated safety and environmental compliance for all mining-related activities.  Assist in annual budget development and monthly review.   Consistently produce and ship aggregate products that meet quality specifications.  Provide strong leadership, training, team building, and supervision to organization.

  • Bachelor's Degree; Engineering degree a plus; minimum five years of mine management experience (including mine planning).
  • Large 50+ cubic yard dragline experience; mining underwater a plus.  Must have pit development, drilling and blasting, and operations experience, including efficient loader and truck production.
  • Good understanding of aggregate processing and equipment.  Capable of making cost per ton analyses and evaluating cost reduction alternatives.
  • Excellent time management skills.  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.  Good planning skills.
  • Understands accountability.  Demonstrated strong leadership skills.  Proven track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production, and quality.
  • Ability to adapt and live in a foreign country and culture.  Previous international experience a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills plus good understanding of business finance. Capable of completing accurate and thorough performance evaluations.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills.
