Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. is a heavy-civil contractor that specializes in the construction of complex infrastructure and geotechnical projects. We are currently seeking an experienced estimator to work in our Oakdale, Minnesota office.
As an Estimator based in our Minnesota office, you will prepare and/or coordinate complete thorough and accurate estimates for heavy civil, tunnel and geotechnical projects. You will be expected to identify opportunities and risks, and to collaborate with estimating management to develop winning strategies.
ASI Constructors, Inc. (ASI) is a self-performing, heavy-civil contractor specializing in the construction and rehabilitation of dams, hydroelectric and renewable energy facilities, pipelines, and other major water resource projects. Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. (ECI) is a subsidiary of ASI. ECI is a specialty contractor focused on water infrastructure rehabilitation, including tunnel/shaft rehabilitation, and storm/sanitary sewer system improvements.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
• Quantity Take-offs and pricing.
• Develop pre-bid schedules.
• Compare and analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Monitor client addendum and advise the estimating team on changes during the estimate period.
• May review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
• Obtain knowledge of project and appropriate regulations required to construct the project to meet affirmative action requirements and MBE/WBE requirements.
• Lead or participate in organized review final estimate.
• Participate in project turn-over to the project execution team.
• Follow awarded contracts as assigned – may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Construction or Mining Engineering from an accredited institution and 5 years heavy civil estimating & cost control related experience projects $1M to $30M.
• Proficient with HCSS and Primavera P6.
• Thorough understanding with applied knowledge of construction earthwork, structures, underground, and geotechnical practices on unique and complex heavy civil projects.
• Knowledge and understanding of prevailing wage issues.
• Demonstrated decision making skills.
• Willingness and ability to think "outside of the box" on complex projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in proposal writing and preparation.
