Position:    Project Superintendent (Level II)

Reports to:    Vice President

Location:    Alabama, Texas, Virginia, Wyoming and other upcoming projects

Summary of Position:   Overall responsibility for the management of field operations on large scale multi-disciplined construction projects, or multiple projects.  Coordinate with and manage company craft personnel, company assets, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers and owners to maintain safety, schedule, profitability, and client satisfaction.  Oversee and provide management for assigned Superintendents (Level I).

Key Activities and Position Responsibilities:

Overall site manager for the project(s).
• Ensure that assigned projects are completed safely, on time and within budget.
• Attend estimate reviews and preconstruction meetings.
• Plan project so as to minimize delays, maximize efficiency and ensure a smoothly run project:
• Responsible for project schedules such as:
            o CPM Schedule;
            o Short Interval Scheduling;
            o Indirect Labor Schedules;
            o Equipment Schedules.
• General oversight of work crews to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Responsible for appropriate crew and crew sizes. Manage, discipline and make ultimate decisions regarding the retention of personnel that are staffing work crews.
• Fully implement the Company and Jobsite Specific safety programs. Report and remedy any procedures or practices that may be unsafe.
• Report and investigate all accidents.
• Responsible for materials management. Including: requisitions, purchase orders, deliveries, handling, inspections and vendor relations.
• Responsible for reviewing, coordinating, and drafting subcontract documents: scope, pricing, schedule, terms & conditions, compliance, etc.
• Manage owner relations and ensure owner satisfaction.
• Maintain close contact with clients, owners, and their representatives to ensure their total satisfaction.
• Attend owner progress meetings and conduct daily project coordination meetings.
• Change Order Management.
• Implement Quality Control Implementation Plan (QCIP).
             o Responsible for inspections, tests and compliance with QC plan.
• Attend and participate in company pre-job meetings and coordinate pre-job activities.
• Maintain close working relationship with the Construction Operations Manager, Superintendent(s) (Level II and Level III), Project Manager, and Project Engineer(s) to ensure proper execution of project responsibilities.
• Project status reporting:
             o Cost forecasting;
             o Revenue forecasting;
             o Pay Requests;
             o Productivity reporting;
             o Assist with the development of improvement plans (as needed).
• Responsible for project reporting and documentation. Ensure that documentation is completed accurately and timely:
             o Daily Reports;
             o Daily Task Planners;
             o Short Interval Schedules;
             o Quantity Collection Reports;
             o Time Cards and coding;
             o Purchase Orders and Purchase Agreements;
             o RFI’s.

Preferred Qualifications and Training:

The Project Superintendent (Level II) should have at least 10 years construction experience, with at least 5 of these years working specifically on heavy civil or industrial projects.

This candidate should be organized, have impeccable work habits, problem solving skills, effective time management skills, and attention to detail.  The candidate should be familiar with Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other related Microsoft Office applications.
