Associated Brigham Contractors Inc. (ABC) is seeking a "Concrete Form Carpenter/Rod Buster" to join our team.
The current job location is in Osceola, AR. This is a full time position with the potential to continue employment with other projects.
Position Summary:
This individual will work under the direction of the Concrete Foreman. Form Carpenter handles all the materials necessary to prepare and dismantle forms for pouring concrete; Must have the skills to cut, drill, modify, clamp, glue, weld, burn, staple, hang, wire, join, screw, fasten, assemble, hook up, sling and signal all the varied materials used to form concrete; Able to frame, mold, shape, brace, erect, align, plumb, level, grade, elevate, raise, underpin, lay out, shore and stake many elements of a construction project, including the bulk headings, expansion joints, scaffolding, footings, piers, walls, columns, beams, decks, roofs, stairs, floors, and slabs. once the concrete is poured, Form Carpenters also strip and dismantle the forms; Completion of minor punch list items and minor touch-up, demolition, clean up, and other daily items that might arise due to project conditions, schdule, and needs from project management.
Essential Job Functions
- Adheres to and performs functions according to company and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Form and pour footings.
- Secure stakes and align forms to grids.
- Straighten, plumb, and square forms and align to grid lines to construct footings.
- Raise forms to required elevation.
- Determine level of concrete in forms.
- Determine best method to form a wall.
- Straighten, plumb and square wall forms.
- Align forms to grid lines to construct walls.
- Shoot grades on forms to required elevation.
- Ensure concrete is poured at correct rate and consolidated properly.
- Vibrate and float concrete.
- Build and install block outs and in beds.
- Ensure that job site is kept clean and safe by craftsmen.
- Identify hazards associated with task assignments and ask questions.
- Understand and follow lock out/tag out procedures.
- Moves and lifts heavy objects.
- Climbs ladders, concrete formwork, or other structures necessary to assist in erecting formwork and to access elevated areas.
- Updates and uses relevant knowledge to complete own work.
- Regular, timely, and predictable attendance is required for this position.
- Performs other duties as determined and required by project need.
Other Duties:
- Applies adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings.
- Bores holes in timber, masonry or concrete walls, using power drill.
- Dissembles parts by hand or by woodworking and metalworking machines.

Associated Brigham Contractors Inc. supples employees with personal protection equipment (PPC) such as a hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, etc., as required by OSHA.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform required Essential Job Functions satisfactorily. the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience -
- High School education or equivalent
- A minimum of 3) years of experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience

Hazards -
- May be exposed to extremes of heat and cold as well as certain unsafe environments.
- Occationally works near moving equipment and mechanical parts and electrical equipment.
- Possible exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Possible exposure to internal liquids.
- This is a safety sensitive position where a momentary lapse of attention can result in serious injury or death.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally very load
- Must follow all safety requirements carefully.
