Job Statement

Provide strong direction and leadership for Project Operations in Tonawanda and Central NY regions, and Corporate Engineering/Software services teams. Utilize available software tools and resources to execute various Smart Building, Building Automation, Security, Fire, HVAC, and related low voltage system projects my meeting and exceeding booked margins and schedule. Implement corporate strategic plans as related to the department and developed by Executive Committee. Analyze and develop process for continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction. Ensure SmartEdge is continuously competitive by reducing costs through process & standardization improvements. 

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities: 
• Direct Project Operations team within assigned territory.
• Direct Engineering/software services team corporately.
• Designate Project assignments to project managers.
• Attend project kick-off meetings with sales, operations, engineering, software, and others.
• Provide direction and oversight for turnkey project execution including project management, installation, engineering, software, and CTS.
• Manage select projects as required/assigned.
• Oversight for negotiation and procurement of all vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors with Sales Executive and/or assigned Project Manager.
• Maintain relationships with local mechanical and electrical subcontractors.
• Primary point person for all project construction/implementation.
• Schedule and administer regular project review meetings.
• Ensure project is planned, scheduled, and implemented with all internal & external resources to meet the project requirements.
• Coordinate project design, start-up, commissioning, training, and close out with team
• Coordinate scheduling internal resources with appropriate managers and/or direct reports.
• Monitor project budgeting and actual costs/expenditures minimally on a bi-weekly basis.
• Achieve estimated gross margins on projects.
• Review and process documentation for billings on a regular basis with PM staff.
• Perform project analysis during and after project to identify any challenges or issues, and develop resolution(s) as required to achieve budget and schedule.
• Develop and manage formal project review process after close out to improve quality and performance.
• Ensure equipment and products provided by SmartEdge continue to meet performance and cost requirements in order to provide a quality solution at a good value.
• Coordinate with technical and non-technical staff to evaluate and recommend equipment, products, and processes as it relates to our solution offerings (building controls, security, CCTV, design, graphics, CTS, training, etc.).
• Participate in customer presentations as requested.
• Participate in job site meetings as requested.
• Communication and coordination with clients.
• Attend meetings and keep commitments necessary to support all Operations functions.
• Provide appropriate and timely direction and feedback to all SmartEdge personnel on all operations management activities.
• Provide regular updates to the President.
• Ensure positive cash flow by correct billing and assist with collections
• Construction quality assurance
• Develop close relationship with each owner. Continuously make recommendations to the owners.
• R&R in place for every report at the beginning of each year.
• Safety - Compliance and training for the company.
• Salary Administration for all reports.
• Assist with development of policies when required.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures (self & reports).
• Establish and maintain adequate tools and equipment to execute projects work.
• Assist with development of operating budget for projects and engineering department.
• Operate within approved budgets.
• Develop the professional and technical skills of all reports.
• Develop your own professional and technical skills.
• Develop preferred subcontractors for installation, including training/certification programs.
• Utilize B&B (project/sales software), Smartware Studio, and other software applications to maintain, organize, and schedule project operation and related information.

Education and experience:
• Associate or Bachelors degree in technical discipline.
• 8-10 years experience in the supervision of HVAC, Electrical, and/or control installations.
