Job Statement: This is an advanced level position requiring the candidate to perform equipment start-up, checkout and troubleshooting tasks for systems at a high level of accuracy.

Essential/Critical Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assists senior technicians in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Available after hours to aid and assist other technicians to resolve problems.
  • Determines root cause of failures and problems with automation equipment.
  • Identify methods to enhance control system operation.
  • Maintains a professional appearance.
  • Provide customer training and support.
  • Provide proper completion of required documentation.
  • Read and understand software and GUIs for DDC controls. Also be capable of adding controllers to existing systems utilizing company standard software designs.
  • Work with equipment vendors to solve automation problems and increase self knowledge.
  • Mentors Automation Associates in training and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains an organized and accurate vehicle inventory.
  • Return, track and document all defective and/or not required project related materials.
  • Understand and execute the scope of work provided under the contract.
  • Schedule work with Project Manager or Service Coordinator.

Education and Experience:

  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, the theory of component and system operation.
  • BS degree or 8+ year’s equivalent experience.
  • Advanced level using Word and Excel MS software.
  • Preferred experience in computer network operation.
  • This position requires one (1) completion of SmartEdge certification.
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified Network 8000 Technician Certification (BCNWT).
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified LON Technician Certification (BCLT).
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified BACnet Technician Certification (BCBT).
  • Successfully complete the SmartEdge Certified Niagara Technician Certification (BCNT).
  • Successfully completes necessary factory certification courses.
  • Applies knowledge gained from completing certification courses.
