Our "Tech Builder" Training Program is for entry-level candidates, lasting about 8 to 9 weeks long.  Upon successful graduation, trainees will become full-fledged Maintenance Technicians for our Priority Advantage membership program customers.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Trainee, you'll be eagerly participating in & absorbing knowledge from a combination of classroom/lab-based education & field-based training, riding along with real live Morris-Jenkins Service Technicians.  Upon graduation, Trainees will become Maintenance Technicians, performing preventative maintenance service for residential customers with all aspects of residential HVAC including heat pumps, gas systems, and air conditioning units.  Click here to learn more about the role of a Maintenance Technician.

 MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Basic mechanical or electrical skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must pass extensive criminal background check
  • Must have an insurable driving record & valid driver license
  • Able to meet Physical Demands and tolerate Work Environment ***See Below***
  • Must be able to fluently speak, read, & write in the English language

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior work experience in customer service or sales
  • HVAC-related certifications or education

PHYSICIAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; crawl for extended periods of time; use hands to finger, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit: talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds averaging five times per day. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The duties of this job are performed mostly in extreme hot to cold weather conditions and in confined/close spaces 80% of the time i.e. as crawl spaces and attics. Requires wearing goggles and safety gloves as policy directs.
