The GIS Web Developer performs web and mobile development for a variety of projects and clients as part of the Geographic Information System (GIS) Development team. The Web GIS Developer actively leads web based GIS application development within the ArcGIS platform and related technologies. The position will require a solid development foundation in GIS concepts, and have a successful track record with deploying web and mobile applications. This candidate should be well versed in the Esri platform and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. This person will also have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in developing web mapping applications with the ArcGIS JavaScript API. The selected candidate will be counted on to provide creative technical knowledge and will be encouraged to stay current with latest technologies and trends.

Essential Functions:

• Develop, test, debug and maintain an array of custom web based GIS applications, tools and supporting web services using standard software lifecycle processes.
• Perform web and mobile application development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AJAX for the Esri ArcGIS platform
• Provide support, troubleshooting, modifications, enhancements and maintenance for existing GIS applications, scripts, tools and web services.
• Leads Web GIS Development as part of broader GIS Development team
• Direct and implement web security best practices
• Deploying products to web servers or client machines
• Optimize current processes to run securely, efficiently, and accurately to minimize negative user impact.

Required Skills

• Familiar with multiple JavaScript libraries (Dojo, jQuery, Leaflet, etc)
• JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AJAX
• Experience with mobile application development
• Proficient in the use of Esri products including ArcGIS for Server
• Experience with the ArcGIS REST API
• Familiar with Web Based Security Models
• Programming Experience with PHP Beneficial
• Experience with Microsoft SQL and Relational Databases
• C#, ASP.NET, Visual Studio is beneficial
• Passionate about web technologies and self-motivated

Education and Experience:

• B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Geography or related field from an accredited University
• Requires a minimum of 3 years with progressive experience
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Possess valid driver's license and is insurable at firm's standard rates
