Florida Pro Fab, llc. A fast paced pipe fabrication shop is looking for a responsible, detail oriented individual to fill a FULL TIME immediate opening for our Pipe Fabrication Shop Supervisor. The position is an integral part of our management team and the sustainable operational growth of the company. The position will act as the shop floor manager and is expected to manage and direct all work activities and resources for departments, in accordance with cost, quality and schedule.

 Must be comfortable managing a crew of 5-10 workers in the shop. MUST be meticulous about work and be able to complete jobs in a timely manner. Time management skills are KEY.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of a crew of 5+ shop employees
  • Constantly seeks ways to improve efficiency, quality and cost control where applicable
  • Manage and direct all aspects of departments
  • Lead the manufacturing group to meet key business objectives including safety, quality, productivity, delivery, etc.
  • Ensure production and quality requirements are met in order to satisfy the customer base in an efficient and cost effective manner
  • Lead, train, develop and mentor all departmental assigned team members
  • Maintain discipline to procedures, in accordance with safety, quality, engineering, human resources, and finance department guidelines
  • Overseeing the preventative maintenance of all operating equipment
  • Daily space planning for shop
  • Daily labor planning
  • Assigning work duties and monitoring those work duties to maintain schedules
  • Overseeing all applicable department rules and regulations and keeping within the department budget
  • Scheduling daily deliveries

Position Requirements:

 

  • Experience in Piping Projects.
  • Experience and in depth knowledge of with GMAW, SMAW, FCAW applications.
  • Experience working in commercial fabrication.
  • Proficiency in reading and following blueprints.
  • Must be familiar with standard construction concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Experience with scheduling crews and job timelines.
  • Experience with construction / welding quality control requirements.
  • Experience doing material takeoffs/ordering materials for new jobs
  • Great people skills, delegating to coworkers, communicating with company managers, customers
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Experience: 10 years fabrication/welding with at least 5 years minimum in fabrication shop supervisory role.
  • Must be flexible to work late nights and work weekends as needed.
  • Personal Traits: mature, good communication skills, attention to detail, take initiative, good planning and organization skills
