JOB DESCRIPTION:

Manages Technical Support of the company and the Information Technology (IT) department operations, including Technical Support staff.  Manages all technical support, training, administration, installation, and maintenance of end user systems, software, and hardware.  Implement and maintain IT policies, procedures, and best practices.  General purpose: Technical Support & Training, Staff Management, and IT Administration.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and administers help desk and technical support services for the company
  • Manages Technical Support staff performance
  • Manages technology assets by developing and maintaining an accurate inventory of all company hardware, equipment, and software licenses
  • Oversees and assists with the installation, modification and repair of computer hardware and software systems
  • Assists CTO and other Technical Support staff in designing improved processes and operational policies, and is responsible for the implementation of the designs
  • Recommends changes to products or services to fulfill end users’ needs
  • Ensures computer equipment, hardware, and software are kept up to date
  • Takes initiative to fully utilize existing hardware and software capabilities
  • Performs the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements, improve efficiency, and increase system usability
  • Researches, identifies, and recommends hardware & software purchases to meet users’ requirements
  • Provides update, status, and completion information to managers and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication
  • Administers user account setup and network access (Windows AD, Exchange, Google, Verizon, etc.)
  • Provides IT training/education to users and develops training tools & guides
  • Keeps current with the latest technologies
  • Proactively investigates and solves problems
  • Any other duties, as required by management

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or additional equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a management/supervisory role
  • 5+ years of broad IT Support experience
  • Prior experience with ERP software (i.e. ServMan, Infor, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of current network, hardware, protocols, and standards
  • Extensive software application support experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage IT projects and deliver on commitments
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize between enterprise initiatives and routine IT operations; with great attention to detail, uncompromised quality, and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to propose, promote, collaborate, and execute strategic IT initiatives
  • Very strong conceptual, analytical, and judgment abilities
  • Strong understanding of project management principals
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into complex IT issues and products, as required
  • Results-driven and accountable to deadlines/goals established
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in the English language

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Additional years of experience in Management or IT Support
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
  • Industry Certification (Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.)
  • Project Management Certification (i.e. PMP/CAPM)
  • Familiarity with MS SQL
