Essential Duties:

The Estimator II will be responsible for completing estimates for construction projects including quantity survey/pricing/budgeting/value analysis, preparing square foot estimates, systems-parametric estimates, detailed conceptual estimates, working drawing estimates, proposal/bid or GMP estimates, systems comparisons, historical cost reports, and value engineering alternatives. In addition, this person will provide superior service to owners/architects/engineers, participate in the preconstruction process, and advise on issues that pose a potential cost or schedule problem.

Essential Skills:

  • An industry related college degree is highly preferred.
  • 3 to 7 years of schematic design, design development and construction document estimating experience.
  • Ability to mentally schedule and construct a building from drawings.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the owner, architect, and the project team.
  • Good time management and project organization skills.
  • Ability to compare and analyze various systems and related cost impacts.
  • Quick creative thinking and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with estimating concrete and carpentry self-performed work.
