Title:     CERTIFIED BOOM TRUCK OPERATOR 

Reports To:     Operations Manager

Status:     Regular, Full Time, Non-exempt                                                                   

Primary Function:   

Responsible for the safe and productive operation and daily maintenance of equipment such as backhoes, dozers, hoe rams, boom truck, or specialty trucks, etc. working in specialty contract areas, i.e. gas pipeline or fiber optics.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following list is an outline of duties and responsibilities attached to this position. It is understood that this list is intended to be representative of the functions that may reasonably be expected of the position. It is not intended to be comprehensive.

1. Operate Boom / Crane Truck in a safe and skilled manner in accordance with DOT regulations and BF Joy Driver Handbook.
2. Responsible for loads, delivery, and off-loads of the Crane Truck.
3. Ensures proper material and quantity, rigging, planning, hoisting, balance, weight limits, binding/securing of load.
4. Maintains and keeps Boom / Crane Truck interior and exterior clean
5. Report needed repairs to the shop immediately.
6. Submit timely and accurate paperwork, i.e., mileage reports, material tickets and other reporting as required.
7. Obtain daily job assignment and coordinate instructions with production supervisor.
8. Complies with pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicle according to regulations.
9. Arrive at job site on time.
10. Assist crew in flagging traffic, housekeeping (sweeping and cleaning around job site), load/unload materials, place and secure steel plates.
11. Practice a “safety comes first” attitude by following Joy, OSHA and DOT regulations.
12. Fill in as Dump Truck Driver
13. Must be open to performing additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS

1. High school diploma / equivalency or combination of education and training experience.
2. Experience operating heavy equipment highly preferred (Excavator, Front End Loader)
3. Possess a valid Class “A” CDL and good driving record a MUST!!
4. Experience driving a Dump Truck
5. At least two years’ experience
6. Must be able to communicate with supervisor and coworkers.
7. You will be required to pass DOT drug screen and physical

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited, lifting materials and equipment (up to 70 pounds unassisted), standing, climbing, walking, or using hands to operate truck or handle tools.
