Position is Located in Stillwater, OK

Company Introduction: ASCO, a privately owned and independent Belgian company, began operations as a private subcontractor in 1954. The aeronautics division started in 1979 and is currently the only group activity. Today ASCO Industries is engaged in a broad range of development, engineering, manufacturing and assembly activities providing multidisciplinary subcontracting services to various markets and aerospace programs around the world.

Position Summary Purpose of the Job This position will be assigned to be Responsible Level III per NAS 410. This position will report to the Quality Manager. The position will primarily be tasked with qualification and certification of NDT personnel to NAS 410, auditing NDT systems and evaluation and compliance of all NDT processes and systems.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods to be in compliance with customer specification and requirements.
  2. Train, test and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per the latest revision of Asco’s Quality Control procedures.
  3. Analyze and interpret inspection quality data, conduct research on product defects, and recommend modification in products or quality standards, where such appear to be warranted.
  4. Serves as liaison with customers on items NDT related inspection and visit customers and suppliers where necessary on specific inspection matters.
  5. Provide guidance and expertise to sales, engineering and manufacturing on NDT issues with regards to customer inquiries.
  6. Perform system audits on all NDT areas and Quality Systems.
  7. Review new and/or revised internal standard processes and special process documents
  8. Assist the Quality Manager, as needed, with various audits and compliance projects
  9. Insure compliance with customer and government regulations as pertaining to NDT processes, including ability to interpret codes standards and other contractual documents.
  10. Develop new inspection methods and/or programs that promote cost reduction activities.
  11. Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Required Education: Education: Requires a BS degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace or other relevant discipline preferred) with at least 5 years relevant experience, or a MS degree in engineering with at least 3 years relevant experience OR equivalent experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards, preferred
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools and/or equivalent quality training.
  • Ability to process and communicate information using Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to lead teams or projects achieving desired results on schedule
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in English required
  • Experience with Nadcap, ISO, and AS standards, preferred
  • Must be certifiable to NDT level III in Magnetic Particle Inspection and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection methods.
  • Prior experience as an auditor, preferred
  • Must be detail oriented and possess technical manufacturing capabilities/knowledge
  • Some travel required domestic and internationally Some domestic and international travel may be required.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent software. Must be computer literate.
  • Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relations
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must be currently eligible/authorized to work in the United States.
