Job Description
Work includes the following phases of an Integration or HVAC Building Controls project:

 

 

Experience with Web enabled Building Automation and Integration programming and engineering. Knowledge of multiple HVAC control manufacture’s products including unit controllers with Standard Industry Protocols and Integration programming is necessary (BACnet, LonTalk, Modbus and Niagara Frame work). Knowledge of Java, XML, and OBiX is a Plus. Tridium/Niagara AX certification will be a requirement to either currently have or the capability, background and desire to obtain certification.

In addition to HVAC building automation, experience and or desire to learn other building related integration/programming is also required.

This would consist of but not limited to:

  • Security
    • Card Access
    • Surveillance
    • Engineered Smoke Control
  • Lighting Controls
  • Renewable Energy Related systems or components
  • Maintenance Management Software
  • Energy or Utility meters

 

The reviewing and comprehension of job specifications and sequences of operations is vital to the success of this position. Must also be able to read and review drawings and blueprints. Coordinate the ordering of required equipment or material.

Create custom graphics from a standard library for control and mechanical systems Graphics as well as other building automation other than HVAC. These graphics could include but not limited to: floor plans, areas, meters, dashboards and operational schematics.

As an integrator you be able to answer customer inquiries or concerns related to the scope of work or operation of systems. Looking for additional valued engineering and additional work for project and review with the Account Manager is also expected.

Customer/Owner training is a big part of a successful project. You must be able to present and communicate clearly with the owner or their designated representative. This includes review of all documentation, backups and daily operations of the system. Each project may vary on the level of detail and training.

All Integrators participate in a Client Services handoff of each completed project. This will include many of the same things covered during customer training. This also serves as the official start of the warranty.

Responsibilities:

  • Review scope of work and resources, specs, and design.
  • Understand or develop an accurate and detailed sequence of operation.
  • Participate in pre Integration engineering on some sales projects.
  • Perform complete Integrations and programming for the following:
  • Trane Summit
  • Johnson Metasys - N2 Bus/Johnson FX 40
  • Honeywell  XL
  • Distech
  • Perform Lon watcher based tasks including Distech Control setup
  • Integration Control component selection.
  • Coordinate job materials with Service Manager as needed.
  • Program DDC Controls.
  • Program and setup Network Unit Controllers.
  • Have a working knowledge of LAN and WAN’s including Routers, IP’s.
  • Provides technical support as needed.
  • Setup graphics for Customer Interface
  • Setup Trending and Custom reports including Alarms.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Review project closeout with the Project Manager.
  • Participate in weekly meetings. (New Ideas, Procedures, Training, Scheduling. Job Updates, etc.)
  • Some on site field engineering will be required for Integration/Control projects.
  • Adhere to all company safety policy, practices and standards on and off the job site.

 

Job /Physical Requirements

Availability to work additional hours beyond normal business Hours

Provide afterhours remote and or on job site support

The job may require moving and handling up to or slightly over 50 pounds

Ability to climb and work off of ladders and scaffolds

Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
