JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primarily responsible for the installation and removal of water heaters, tankless water heaters, and water filtration systems. Provides expertise and is responsible for repairing, installing, modifying, and maintaining plumbing fixtures in water heating systems. Identifies electrical, plumbing, and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action. Works as a team with a Plumber Helper and provides training. General Purpose: Customer Relations, Problem Solving, and Time Management
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with Installation department and any others necessary to provide timely and accurate service to customers in accordance with company standards and procedures
- As Lead Plumber, provides consistent and accurate feedback, encouragement, support, professional development, and coaching to other Plumbers and Service Technicians
- Serves customers by analyzing work orders, following daily travel schedule, listening to customer concerns, performing designated work, and proactively solving problems
- Provides excellent customer service
- Keeps personal tools and equipment operable and up to date
- Documents work performed and updates plumbing inventory in accordance with company procedure
- Researches and updates knowledge of plumbing standards, local and state codes, industry equipment, and tools
- Must be able to maintain professional conduct in all work situations, uphold a clean cut appearance, and adapt well to all types of working conditions
- All other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by Manager
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of plumbing experience with strong knowledge of state and local codes and regulations
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make appropriate decisions
- Keen ability to work accurately, efficiently, and manage multiple tasks
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of required tools
- Committed adherence and enforcement of the company’s core values and core purpose
- Basic computer skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in the English language
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
- Must pass extensive criminal background check
- Must have an insurable driving record & valid driver license
- Able to meet Physical Demands and tolerate Work Environment ***See Below***
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid North Carolina Plumbing Contractor or Journeyman License
- Valid South Carolina LLR Plumbing Contractor License
- Valid South Carolina MASC Master Plumber Certification
- Prior leadership experience
- Experience in Residential Plumbing, particularly with water heater retrofit
- Experience with installation and service of tank-less water heaters

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, walk, kneel, climb, bend, stoop, balance, crouch, sit for extended amounts of time. The employee is also required to use hands to finger or feel objects, tools and controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, see and speak. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds averaging 5 times a day. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The duties of this job are performed mostly in extreme hot to cold weather conditions and in confined/close spaces, i.e. crawl spaces and attics. This job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by company policy.
