Thomas & Hutton has an opening for a Civil Site Development Project Manager in our Mount Pleasant, SC office.   The position requires strong understanding of civil site design with previous experience working on public and private design projects.   Working knowledge of Civil 3D software preferred.  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and P.E. required. 

Typical Duties:

  1. Business development activities, including client management.
  2. Proposal preparations and fee development.
  3. Visit clients, job sites and consultant offices as needed to support project and business development needs.
  4. Monitor scope, schedules and budget for projects and business unit.
  5. Managing engineering work and interface with other disciplines as needed.
  6. Create scope of work for projects.
  7. Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas.
  8. Typically handles multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously.
  9. May supervise engineers and technicians.
  10. Tracks projects in Vision/ Microsoft project with intermediate/advanced skill.
  11. Actively participates in civic and professional organizations.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.   Registered  Professional Engineer required

Skills: 

  • 6+ years experience in design of public and private projects.
  • A successful track record of project management, including development/management of scopes, schedules and budgets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working experience with Autocad, preferably Civil 3D.
  • Business development skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Understanding of Business Financial Information .
