Position: Design / Application Engineer

Description:

This position is responsible for specifying, designing and/or engineering products using our compressors, pressure vessel and other accessories.  This position is geared towards understanding of the entire refrigerant system in which these products are used.  Our products are used in a wide variety of applications such as commercial and industrial AC, supermarket refrigeration, chillers and environmental chambers. The position can demand knowledge of wiring, piping, oil management, external motors, and programmable controls used in these systems.  Furthermore, understanding the application and system requirements for a wide range of refrigerants including HFCs, CO2 and Ammonia is useful.

Customer interaction is also essential. This requires extraordinary communication skills to be able to assist a wide variety of skill levels. Troubleshooting and problem solving are keys in assisting our customers. Occasionally, travel to a job site is required and using data logging equipment to interpret and predict issues is possible.

Skills:

  • Must be computer proficient
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • 3D CAD (Solidworks) – a plus
  • 2D CAD (AutoCAD) - a plus
  • Programming skills - a plus

Experience - Min of 5 years in one of the following:

  • Refrigerant Compressors
  • Commercial AC / Chillers
  • Supermarket refrigeration
  • Industrial refrigeration
  • Oil Separation
  • Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers
  • PLCs used in HVAC/R industry

Education:

  • 4 year college degree, Bachelor preferred but not required
  • PE is a plus but not required
