We are currently seeking an ER & Waste Services Sprvr to join our growing team! 

Position Overview:

To be operationally focused with an emphasis on tracking, sampling, packaging, manifesting, and scheduling hazardous waste projects on time and within budget while maintaining accurate project records.  Support NRC’s 24/7/365 operations on emergency response, land service and maritime contracts or projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all potential risks and liabilities of a project through complete understanding of the contract documents in order to maintain and protect NRC Environmental Services best interest
  • Maintain accurate records of all jobs and events to achieve full reimbursement of funds from clients. This consists of turning in daily work reports in a timely manner (daily), managing subcontractors used on jobs, providing assistance as needed to complete timely invoicing.
  • Manage all phases of hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal generated on assigned projects including hazard categorization, manifesting, disposal, and reporting.
  • Complete chemical identification, segregation, packing, profiling, and transporter arrangement of all hazardous waste for internal and external clientele.
  • Track waste, schedule disposal with dispatch and be responsible for the 10-day activities to assure compliance.
  • Add hazardous material endorsement to driver’s license, to be able to transport hazardous waste from jobsite to facility within reasonable time but no more than 18 months of employment.
  • Ensure total customer satisfaction on all jobs.
  • Build relationships with key members of various regulatory agencies and participate in meetings and symposiums whenever possible.
  • Oversee the work of subcontractors and verify that work is completed as scheduled.
  • Correct completion of all NRC paperwork and project documentation including accurate recording of time worked, Daily work reports, Daily Tailgate Safety Meeting Forms, Hazardous Waste Manifest, Profiles, Bill of Lading, and Notes/Incident Action Logbook.
  • Ability to identify, record, and communicate critical project information to superiors and handle emergency situations in an effective manner.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards/requirements along with accurate completion of Health & Safety documents including proper accident/injury reporting.
  • Ensure that assigned equipment is maintained and operated in compliance with all regulatory laws and safety requirements.
  • May be required to operate various equipment, drive NRC vehicles and water craft.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance on all assigned projects.
  • Travel and work extended hours.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Four year college degree (science major preferred) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Qualified candidate will generally have at least 1 to 3 years of experience in the environmental hazardous waste industry.
  • Experience should include managing and developing professional proposals for engineering, construction or remedial projects.
  • Possesses current OSHA training certificates, and willing to obtain DOT AND EPA training certificates.
  • Knowledge of OSPR, Marine Regulations, OSRO Ratings, ICS, Federal Coast Guard and State Agency requirements.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of management and subordinates in order to effectively accomplish general goals of the Operations program.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are required including negotiation, persuasive, leadership and supervision skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Must have the ability to lead by example and set tone for the project by displaying professionalism, proper communication with clients and team work along with the ability to instill motivation with a positive attitude and focus on customer service. 
  • Must be hands-on and willing to work side by side with crew to accomplish NRC goals of completing a profitable job to the client’s satisfaction.
