JH Kelly a fourth generation, family-owned construction company is seeking an experienced Tractor-Trailer truck driver for our Longview, WA location. 

JH Kelly provides HVAC and plumbing services to commercial facility owners and acts as a self-performing industrial general contractor at process plants throughout the greater Pacific Northwest. Our project teams are made up of great people and their ability to plan and execute challenging projects has resulted in a loyal customer following and national safety awards.

Our reputation for completing difficult process piping jobs is well known throughout the region and our success has led us to offer 3rd party services as a piping fabricator or module fabricator. Our integrated project approach includes self-performing concrete placement, functioning as a steel erector and providing equipment setting, millwrighting, and electrical services. For commercial HVAC projects, we can be found under tower cranes providing trade services as a plumbing contractor or mechanical contractor on a subcontracted basis.

 

Summary:

Truck drivers at J H Kelly are responsible for the delivery of  freight and equipment to and from our construction jobsites.  Drivers are involved in the loading and unloading of trailer and are expected to complete their assignments safely, efficiently and free from damage.  The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm however longer days and overnight stays may be needed for jobsite locations of greater distances.  Drivers are assigned and perform other miscellaneous duties in the Longview, WA shop during trip downtimes.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to operate tractor with up to 53' trailer.
  • Perform vehicle inspections pre and post trip.
  • Involved in loading and unloading.
  • Maintain log book.
  • Ability to work 12 - 14 hours per day if project needs require.
  • Ability to stay overnight if project location doesn't enable a roundtrip in one day.
  • Excellent motor vehicle record.

Education/Experience:

  • Valid Class "A" CDL.
  • Current DOT medical card.
  • Prior construction equipment delivery experience is a plus.
  • Other endorsements such as Tanker and/or Passenger a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Forklift certified or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • TWIC card or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Safe driving habits that abide by all laws and regulations of the road.
  • Dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to, machinery, heights and noise.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able to frequently lift or carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Working outdoors in all weather conditions required as needed.
  • Fast paced work environment
  • Overtime may be required
