CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:  HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

 

SUMMARY

Our growing business in Columbia, MD is in search of a talented HR Generalist to join our small HR team.  This generalist position will have a heavy emphasis on talent acquisition; however, will cross over into several different HR disciplines. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other functions may be assigned. 

  • Attract and Target qualified candidates – identify, evaluate and present qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Maintain our applicant tracking system, develop job descriptions and post positions, track applications and create monthly overview of open and filled positions.
  • Coordinate onsite interviews and ensure quality around hiring decisions
  • Check references and coordinate offers
  • Coordinate onboarding and assimilation activities
  • Provides back up to payroll and benefits administration
  • Supports employee relations counseling, terminations and exit interviewing.
  • Schedules and tracks external and internal training activities for associates.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Conducts new employee orientations; administers drug screen and background checks, conducts reference checks.
  • Responsible for placing job postings, sourcing candidates, scheduling phone screens and face to face interviews for all professional and technical job openings.
  • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job related requirements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of Human Resources experience. 
  • Must have HRIS experience, ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Web-enabled applications and database software and intermediate level experience with Excel.
  • Ability to work with company workforce at all levels of the company.
  • Able to maintain highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to meet competing deadlines.
  • Must be a team player, who enjoys working with people and that wants to make a major contribution to the business by finding the right talent!
