CURRENT OPPORTUNITY:  Senior Field Technician

Description

The Senior Field Technician provides assistance with repairs, maintenance, monitoring, and operations at environmental remediation sites including wastewater treatment facilities and refineries. The Senior Field Technician has excellent problem-solving and communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Essential Duties

  • Understand, apply, and adhere to all safety procedures as required.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including forklift, filter press, and groundwater treatment and/or soil vapor extraction equipment.
  • Monitor systems and perform preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Work on job sites as assigned, working effectively individually and within a team environment.
  • Work as team leader when needed, complying with work orders and the direction of the Project Manager.
  • Complete projects on schedule and maintain communications with Project Manager.
  • Mechanical operation of forklift and excavator.
  • Collect and record field data, including treatment system data and samples for groundwater, soil and sediment, and remediation system discharge.
  • Identify and solve site issues, escalating when appropriate.
  • Follow all Company Standard Operating Procedures for field work.
  • Keep job sites neat, clean and free of debris.
  • May work as team lead to ensure compliance with work orders and the direction of the Project Manager to keep tasks on schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications / Experience

  • 5-10 years related experience and/or training.
  • N2 license preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work all shifts, including extended hours, 12 hour shifts, 7 days a week, and holidays.
  • Understanding of piping and electrical codes.
  • General construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel on a daily basis and for extended periods as required.
  • TWIC Card.
  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
  • Current and clean Driver’s License.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical including drug and alcohol test.

Education

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.  

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to work at various job sites, located indoors and outdoors, including oil refineries, active gas stations, abandoned warehouses, industrial manufacturing facilities, confined space locations, excavation sites, etc. Safety equipment will be provided as needed for each site, which may include respirators. This role may also be subjected to varying, and sometimes extreme, hot and cold temperatures due to changes in outdoor weather.
