We are currently seeking an On-Call Deckhand to join our growing team!
Position Overview:
Industrial Service Dock Watch is an On-Call Seasonal position who will report to the PIC on tower to support vessels moored at the Port of Anchorage. Typical tasks include the following: Walk the lines, check header pipes for leaks, moor and de-moor vessels. This position typically works 12 to 16 hours per shift, 2 to 4 shifts per week depending on project requirements. When required, must be able to work weekends, holidays, and on short notice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist crane operator in hand signals and spotting loads and/or hoses for connections and disconnections.
- Assist in vessel mooring and de-mooring.
- Open and close valves as directed by PIC.
- Eligible an able to attain a TWIC card.
- Successfully complete Tesoro’s PIC computer based training exam.
- Have a valid Alaska Drivers License and meet insurability requirements.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
- 40 hr. Hazwoper Certificate
- Ability to read, understand and apply safety practices and procedures
- Ability to safely operate generators, compressors, pumps, pressure washers and associated fittings
- Understand and follow multi-step written or oral instruction
- Ability to keep organized accurate and detailed job work order documentation
- Perform simple calculations including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
- Able to read, legibly write, speak and understand English
Exhibit a high level of integrity, honesty and professionalism in all activities and situations
Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verifications throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
