OVERVIEW

Optima Tax Relief is looking for a full-time HR Manager to join our Human Resource team. In this role you will lead the Human Resources Department and will be responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising department initiatives.  You will recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures for continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance across the full spectrum of legal, regulatory and internal HR expectations, drive excellence, and assist in achieving overall business goals. The role also requires strong professional skills in general organization and task management, oral and written communication, and time management.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and training HR team on federal and state requirements
  • Consults legal counsel to ensure policies comply with federal and state law
  • Manage On-boarding and Terminations
  • Ensure compliance with COBRA guidelines
  • Comply with necessary accreditation and licensure requirements
  • Maintain personnel files; past and current
  • Maintain all employee benefits programs
  • Coordinate annual renewals/enrollments for company-provided benefits
  • Work with HR Department and Development to ensure compliance and audit issues identified; include in future training and education programs
  • Assist in development of Employee Handbook; ensure legal compliance is always met
  • Assist Management or Legal on special projects and as needed
  • Maintain professional, technical, and legal knowledge by attending educational workshops to stay abreast with current laws and practices
  • Assist with HRIS development and ongoing management
  • Other tasks and duties as needed

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in related field
  • 5 years experience in related field
  • Experience working in 200+ employee company a PLUS
  • Experience managing a fully staffed HR team 
  • Experience working with HRIS
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources compliance
  • Strong work ethic and team player.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity
