Diversified Protection Systems, Inc (DPSI) is a recognized leader in design, construction, and service operations for Mission Critical Electrical and Life Safety Systems.

Diversified Protection Systems, Inc. has an immediate opening for a CAD Designer in our Anaheim office.  The Designer will be responsible for working with Sales and Engineering teams to provide the full design of electrical and piping for fire alarm and fire suppression systems, and possess special hazard and building experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Work with Sales and Operations to interpret project specifications and drawings, determining system layout.

• Responsible for the creation of design drawings and submittals for fire alarm and fire suppression systems and track for design approval.

• To effectively support the design group, this individual must have proficient knowledge in current codes such as NFPA and the principles and practices of fire protection engineering.

• Have proficient knowledge in the use of AutoCAD for the purpose of engineering and application of fire alarm and suppression systems. Knowledge of access control, CCTV and security are a plus.

• Knowledge of Siemens, Ansul, and Kidde product line.

• Knowledge of clean agent systems - FM200, Novec & Inergen.

• Water mist, Foam, and Sprinkler experience a plus.

• Perform to a professional standard for accurate, neat, error free work, as determined by company standards.

• Review and manage assigned design projects to ensure deadlines are met.

• Promote a team environment, which will include assisting other designers with their projects.

• Communicate and coordinate work with other groups and departments.

• Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers.

• Provide clients with updates on the status of their drawings.

• Obtain drawing approvals and permits with the appropriate AHJ.

Qualifications:

  • NICET II or higher preferred.
  • Able to work Monday-Friday. Overtime and weekends (as required)
  • Must possess good driving, criminal, and credit history. May be subject to Department of Justice and FBI background checks at the request of our clients.
  • Able to travel to job sites and applicable AHJ
  • Pass drug and alcohol testing. All employees are subject to ASAP Drug Testing
