The Kirlin Group, LLC with corporate offices in Rockville, MD, has an immediate need for an Assistant Corporate Controller to Kirlin team! This position reports to the Controller and the person is responsible for supporting the Controller in the direction, supervision and development of the accounting team. The ideal candidate will assist with monthly close process, handle payroll tax while managing external vendors. Facilitates the driving of accounting initiative and a variety of financial analyses and special projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for Payroll and payroll tax reporting as it relates to the use of outside vendors.
- Create new budget templates for 2017, researching budgeting provided by VP.
- Continued implementation of the ERP system.
- Work as the IT liaison for all accounting requests and reports to determine the priority of the request and facilitate the mainstream use of new features and reports by controllers.
- Manage outsourced accounting functions with IT (ADP, CIS, HRIS, etc.).
- Maintain all companies' chart of accounts and ensure new accounts are added to financial manager reporting
- Review the companies' monthly financial packages and monitor consistency and accounting practices.
- Oversee the completion of the annual financial audit.
- Consolidate and oversee the collection of the research tax credit data.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education: BS Degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum Experience: 5 years
- Certification: CPA
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- CPA
- 8 years of experience in similar role
- Multi division/state company experience in mid cap company
