Ready Mix Dispatcher

Metro Ready Mix LC. is looking for a full-time plant dispatcher.  The dispatcher is responsible for the loading of mixer trucks from one of three plants located in Cedar Rapids, Coralville, or Iowa City.

General Responsibilities

• Management of raw material inventory and personnel
• Fielding calls from customers for concrete orders
• Loading concrete mixers with required materials according to batch specifications
• Use computer models paired with availability schedules to determine optimal customer order scheduling for future work
• Prepare work schedules for employees based on future work demand
• Building a daily work schedule for next day at a minimum

 Qualifications Desired

• Knowledge of Ready Mix plant operations and plant maintenance
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to build and maintain a work schedule
• Management of inventory and personnel
• Self-Motivated and able to learn quickly
• Able to work well with and motivate others to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
• Able to interact professionally, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues and customers
• Prior dispatch experience is preferred but will train the right candidate
• Prior use of Command Alkon dispatch software a plus but not required
