In keeping with our commitment to improve our client services, we are seeking to expand our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) capabilities. We have an opportunity for a GIS Intern to work on GIS specific projects and provide assistance/support to our planners, engineers and scientists utilizing GIS and CAD applications to enhance our capabilities of serving our clients.
Responsibilities include map production, gps, data development, data compilation, data analysis, support and other general GIS services.
In order to be considered for this position, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Associates degree, with a Bachelors or Master’s Degree as a plus, in Information Technology, Geography, Engineering, GIS or a science related field.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience with working knowledge of ESRI GIS products, experience with practical engineering, scientific application of GIS technology and specific parcel mapping experience would be preferred.
- Strong problem solving, organization and communication skills are essential.
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
- Experience with wetland delineations, environmental field work, survey and mapping would be considered a plus.
The ideal candidate would have some experience with general GIS services, utilizing ArcGIS products (educational projects using GIS will qualify as experience). Experience in designing, developing, and implementing customized web GIS applications and web services for clients is a plus. Familiarity implementing applications in a Cloud Based environment as well as programming experience is a plus. Skills with mobile applications and some experience using Trimble GPS Equipment, TerraSync, ArcPad and Pathfinder Office are a plus.
