Position Summary:

The Plant Assistant position will play a key role in ensuring the plants and trucks run smoothly and accurately.  They will be an assistant to the Plant Manager and will assist by monitoring plant maintenance and by backing up a few key positions.   (May be a seasonal job.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and back-up Truck Dispatcher.
  • Manage the Plant Maintenance:
    • Compile reports
    • Enter parts purchased and allocate inventory.
    • Maintain accurate repair history.
    • Data entry – tracking, updates and notifications.
  • Manage the PO’s for parts related to the plants.
  • Assist and back-up the Scale Operator.
  • Handle parts running for the Plant Manager.
  • Assist with cleaning up and maintaining the plants.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employees and keep them updated.
  • Must have knowledge of the metro area (truck routes).
  • Must have an understanding of equipment weight, height and width.
  • Must gain a knowledge and understanding of truck permits for oversized/overweight loads.
  • Must have knowledge of the metro area (truck routes).
  • Ability to schedule truck moves efficiently and with precision.
  • Ability to work through problem solve and act quickly when there is last minute switch or truck shortage.
