Position Summary: Our vision is to be the backdrop where memories are made and beginnings are born. HGC builds complex projects quickly and accurately. We achieve this through accelerated, risk averse, custom engineered solutions that breathe life into our client’s dreams.  As a Project Manager I, you will work closely on a variety of projects with Project Engineers, other Project Managers and Superintendents. You will serve as Project Lead on small to medium sized projects. You will also mentor and assist with the development of Project Engineers.  You are a key factor to ensuring the quality of our work product.

 

Position Commitments:

Safety – “Adheres to all Safety Protocol”

  • Follow all OSHA, EPA and ODH policies and procedures.
  • Follow all company and site specific safety and health program policies.
  • Actively participate in accident/incident investigations when applicable.
  • Ensure the compliance of Subcontractors/team members as it pertains to OSHA standards and all HGC safety and pre-qualification guidelines.
  • Immediately notify the Safety Department and Supervisor of all accidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Thoroughly understand and enforce the HGC Safety Program.
  • Enforce and document all safety requirements thoroughly and adhere to the HGC Safety Program.

Job Knowledge – “Understands and has experience with the work performed.”

  • Work according to and ensure others work according to the Project Blueprint.
  • Understand project Scopes of Work and Self-Perform Scopes of work.
  • Thoroughly understand each set of Plans and Specifications of project.
  • Understand Owner Contract.
  • Understand HGC’s Master Service Agreement (MSA.)
  • Assist as needed/requested in the subcontractor pre-qualification process.
  • Know and use Phoenix Scheduling software.
  • Thoroughly understand and manage each assigned project’s closeout process.
  • Understand Viewpoint Standards and Procedures.

  • Work according to set standards and produce quality outcomes.
  • Assist Pre-construction Department in the bidding process.
  • Attend pre-bid walk-throughs for projects.
  • Create or assist in developing Project Logistics Plans.
  • Assist Pre-Construction Department with the set-up of Building Connected to use as a bidding tool.
  • Review subcontractor bids for completeness and acceptable exclusions.
  • Write subcontractor scopes of work for both bidding and buyout.
  • Lead or participate in subcontractor scope review meetings.
  • Manage or assist with complete buyout of projects.
  • Assemble and submit SAFE Form for approval as part of buyout process.
  • Oversee and sign subcontractor letters of intent.
  • Release Subcontracts and Purchase Orders to HGC Project Coordinator when serving as Project Lead.
  • Create and Monitor Procurement Logs.
  • Process Owner and subcontractor Change Orders with Appropriate Approvals.
  • Update drawings and specifications in Procore and shared G:drive.
  • Prepare job startup in viewpoint.
  • Preparing job cost setup in viewpoint.
  • Update project information and directory in Procore.
  • Request, track and review subcontractor and supplier Submittals and Product samples
  • Prepare, review and track RFIs.
  • Track project permits for HGC and trade subcontractors.
  • Manage meeting minutes for assigned
  • Implements Lean Standards for each project.
  • Conduct Pull Plan Scheduling Meetings.
  • Track and manage weekly work plans.
  • Update project schedules weekly.
  • Distribute project and look ahead schedules to project team and subcontractors.
  • Manage punch-list process to insure timely completion by all
  • Manage Closeout Process.
  • Collect and track close out documents for assigned projects.
  • Manage collection of as-built drawings for projects.
  • Assemble and prepare final closeout documents for clients.
  • Setup and lead project debrief meetins.
  • Prepare monthly projections.
  • Manage cost control for projects.
  • Manage cash flow of projects.
  • Review and approve project invoices.
  • Prepare and develop estimated draw schedule.
  • Develop, prepare and submit owner billings for projects
  • Monitor project quality standards and communicate any concerns with Superintendent as necessary.
  • Hold subcontractors and vendors accountable for contracted scope of work.
  • Ensure all Certificates of Occupancy are obtained timely.
  • Ensure all Commissioning, Test and Balance and Owner Training is completed accurately and timely.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field such as Engineering
  • 5-7 years’ experience as a co-op or project engineer in commercial construction
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • Ability to work according to our Blueprint for our Culture
  • Completion of the FAST Safety Training – Level 5 within
