Staff Accountant
COMPANY
Wornick Foods is a leading supplier of convenience foods and military rations including the U.S. government and other large Consumer Product Goods companies. We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant.
LOCATION
This position is located at our Blue Ash facility.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
This position reports to the Controller.
SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant will apply principles of accounting to record financial information and prepare/analyze financial reports. Other duties include auditing business transactions.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Staff Accountant, you will apply principles of accounting to record financial information and prepare/analyze financial reports. Other duties include auditing business transactions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
1 – 3 years accounting experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Reconcile General Ledger accounts, bank accounts, and other reconciliations.
Post journal entries and analyze general ledger accounts for trends and variances.
Maintain fixed asset ledgers and depreciation schedules.
Review production costs and analyze for variances and trends.
Support controller with daily, weekly and monthly financial reporting
Work with outside auditors producing supporting schedules and information requests.
Present oral and written reports based on analyses for upper management.
Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
Review data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, surplus income, and expenditures.
Backup for other positions in the company, such as accounts payable, cost accounting and payroll, as required.
Support sales staff with customer reporting, pricing reviews , and other applicable sales and customer reporting.
Other duties as required.
