We self-perform many services throughout Central MN including all aspects of commercial construction, concrete, stone masonry, equipment installation/relocation, millwright, framing, drywall, carpentry, doors/hardware and light demolition.

We are seeking an Estimator/Assistant Project Manager to join our Team.
Job Summary:
The Estimator interfaces with the Vice President of Project Administration and Project Managers and assists in meeting W. Gohman Construction Co.’s strategic goals by providing engineering and cost data regarding construction projects/bids. The Estimator has the responsibility of preparing complete project estimates by analyzing blue prints, specifications, proposals and related documents. Occasionally, may assist with Project Management duties as assigned.
Job Duties:
- Develop quotes as assigned by the VP of Project Administration using approved processes that promote detail and accuracy.
- Review and accurately incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports into unit and man-hour figures.
- Collect and assemble estimates of labor, materials, related work from vendors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to assigned bid/project.
- Maintains files of working documents as backup for estimate figures.
- Establish material list for awarded projects.
- Maintain computerized estimating system.
- Follow awarded contracts as assigned by estimating extra work items, change orders, credits and procuring material.
- Identify, and recommend new markets and opportunities for W. Gohman Construction Co.
- Interface with owner, A/E, and other contractors to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility.
- Effectively interact and problem solve issues with the VP of Project Administration and
Project Manager(s) to manage construction projects.
Qualifications:
- Post high school education in Estimating, Construction Management, or related field of study.
- Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of estimating experience in the construction field experience or related industry experience.
- In lieu of post high school training, a minimum of 2 years of estimating experience in the building industry.
