GEL Engineering of NC, Inc. – SUE Project Manager, Raleigh, NC

GEL Engineering of NC, Inc. has positions open for SUE Project Managers in our Raleigh, NC office.  These positions have very high growth potential and are ideally suited for motivated individuals working within a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial company.  The primary responsibilities include management of SUE projects at state and federal DOT agencies; commercial and industrial facilities; government facilities including military bases; medical or educational facilities and others.  SUE project managers may also become involved with other market sectors in the company such as surveying and geophysical services.  Some field work and travel is required.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and other project resources
• Evaluate potential projects and draft proposal and proposed project budgets accordingly
• Maintain communication with the client and provide progress and status reports as necessary
• Manage field and other technical personnel
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with company project protocols and health and safety plans
    
Education Required:
• Associates Degree or Equivalent (4-Year Technical Degree a plus)
• High School Diploma/GED with existing utility locating experience

Experience/Skills Required:
• Previous experience managing technical consulting projects in the engineering, geology, or SUE field
• Experience with radio-frequency electromagnetic pipe and cable locators and ground penetrating radar (GPR) systems for designating subsurface utilities a plus
• Computer skills (including MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, a plus)
• Good interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
• Ability to manage a field crew and other technical team members
• Experience managing personnel including fostering development and training of team members
• Possess high ethical and core values
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a ME Certificate meeting FMCSA regulations
