Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Service Planner.

Job Responsibilities:  Ensures system reliability for electric services. Secures utility rights-of-way; administers utility policies, prepares agreements and contracts; meets with members and explains utility issues and concerns; performs other member service activities. Responsible for member contact and account management for Builder and Developer, and other similar member and sales programs. Interprets and communicates company procedures for members, and makes decisions within established policy and procedure guidelines.

- Designs construction of new electric facilities, reconstruction of existing electric facilities.

- Prepares electricity load studies and recommends changes/additions required to meet the Member's needs.

- Ensures installation and operations quality standards are met.

- Responsible for ensuring consistent Member service delivery.

- Assists Members in a professional, timely manner.  Provides information on service/utility policies and procedures, rates, energy efficiency, construction advances, service terms and conditions.

- Performs documented line inspections, supports operations, maintenance, as required.

 

Qualifications:  A strong working knowledge of drafting techniques, utility regulations, electrical theory, National Electric Safety Code, National Electric Code is preferred. The successful candidate must be computer proficient, able to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Must be able to organize, plan and manage complex projects.  Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to establish effective working relationships with different groups. The ability to setup and use surveying instruments is highly desirable.

Experience & Education: Two years’ experience as a Service Planner or three years of construction design and member contact experience in an engineering, operations or similar position is preferred. One year experience in relative field plus an Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or similar field preferred.
