The candidate will be responsible for world wide design control of sensing components. These components are primarily purchased finished. The candidate will manage development of new products utilizing established processes for specification, sourcing, design & process verification, and production launch. The engineer will also be responsible for projects focused on usage of existing components in new system applications, quality improvement, and cost reduction.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes
  • Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects
  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software
  • Work with suppliers to develop new component 
  • Conduct lab testing and/or data analysis for components 
  • Provide application support as design control owner

Job Requirements:

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering required
  • Ten + years engineering experience required
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field
  • Experience with the design or support of construction/mining, industrial, and/or heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, and manufacturing systems
  • Experience with the maintenance, continuous improvement, validation, and development of new electrical/electronic components in collaboration with suppliers
  • Past experience on the electrical component lab testing and validation
  • A basic understanding of the principles of Electronics packaging and manufacturing process

Job Skills:

  • Test validation experience preferred 
  • Product Development experience preferred
  • Past product development experience is preferred
