We are currently seeking an experienced Stream Restoration Designer to join our Stormwater Group in our Richmond, VA office location.    

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrated experience in fluvial geomorphology, stream and wetland restoration design projects.
  • Demonstrated understanding of stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and Section 401/404 permitting processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and check accuracy of all completed work. Assure that a QA/QC review is completed at the appropriate stages of each project.
  • Prepare project specifications to specify materials, installation, inspection and payment of items specific to a project.
  • Perform research and write objective summary reports used in the completion of the project work or inspection.
  • Assign duties, schedules and budget to project team members and coordinate project scheduling.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing on-site construction oversight of stream and wetland restoration to assure client satisfaction.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • B.S. degree in civil engineering or equivalent with work experience in Virginia and/or one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business.
  • 6+ years’ experience in environmental/civil engineering including experience in stream and wetland restoration design.
  • Rosgen Stream Classification Certification Levels I - IV desired.
  • A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Working knowledge of CADD software (Civil 3D preferred).
