Industrial Refrigeration Designer
ColonialWebb is seeking a skilled and experienced tradesperson with drafting capabilities to join our team as Industrial Refrigeration Designer. In this role, you will generate CAD documents, project coordination drawings, and workshop drawings for industrial refrigeration systems, commonly found in food distribution centers, cold storage, and food processing facilities.

Position Details:
- Monday through Friday (8 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Location: Norfolk office, 3719 E. Virginia Beach Boulevard, Norfolk VA 23502.
What you will do:
- Coordinate and detail industrial refrigeration construction projects in accordance with plans, specifications, and ColonialWebb fabrication standards.
- Develop clear and complete blueprints, drawings, submittals, and specifications for industrial refrigeration construction projects.
- Recommend modifications to layouts and drawings that will improve efficiency while reducing project costs.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Fabrication Manager regarding any changes to project documents (blueprints, drawings, submittals, specifications, etc.).
What we are looking for:
Preferred Requirements:
- Current or previous experience working on industrial refrigeration construction projects as a Mechanic, Foreman, or Drafter.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, blueprints, submittals, and specifications for industrial refrigeration construction projects.
- Previous experience working with Revit, Auto CAD, and Navisworks for detailing (preferred, not required).
Minimum Requirements:
- Individuals without industrial refrigeration construction experience should have a construction background with chilled water, refrigeration, and steam systems.
- Ability to navigate technical documents such as specs, drawings, product data, or other related engineering documents.
- Experience and demonstrated skills working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- High energy level to handle dynamic, evolving, and fast-paced workload.
- Initiative; self-motivated (driven), self-starter.
- Skillful listener, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude.
