We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of:

ASPHALT PLANT OPERATOR

Summary: Operates steel-wheel and/or rubber-tired roller for asphalt surfaces in the construction of highways, city and county streets ,airport runways, parking lots and trench patching.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain a safe working environment for all activities on project
• Drives machine in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, rolling asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
• Provides minor equipment maintenance inspections such as greasing, checking oil, transmission fluid and water.
• Determines speed and direction of machine based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures.
• Operates wacker, hand roller and hand tamp over areas not accessible to road roller.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum of three years of experience operating an asphalt roller required.
• Class A or B CDL License preferred        
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
