In March 2015, Simon Contractors acquired Hills Materials in Rapid City, SD. Under Simon Contractors, Hills Materials has continued to flourish as an asphalt paving and concrete products contractor and supplier in the Rapid City area and across the state of South Dakota.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of:

ASPHALT LABORER

Summary: Assist in the tasks associated with the construction and repair of asphalt pavement on highways, streets, and parking lots.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Assist minor equipment maintenance and cleaning of the construction equipment.
• Operate pick-up, skid-steer, jack-hammers, air compressors, skid plate tampers, shovels, rakes, broom, and other hand tools.
• Clears working areas
• Works closely with the skilled workers
• Engages in all forms of hard labor that is necessary for the completion of the construction project

Requirements:

• Previous asphalt paving experience preferred.
• Must be able to work out of town and weekends if needed.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving history required.
• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
