Firelands Electric Cooperative is a member-owned and focused organization that plays a vital role in the quality of life in the communities we serve. The Board of Directors invites applications for the position of General Manager/CEO.
The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to cooperative principles and to the core values of innovation, accountability, commitment to the Community and integrity in order to serve the energy needs of our members today and in the future.

•A history of demonstrated leadership
•The capacity to think strategically while promoting cohesion and team building within the staff.
•The ability to establish relationships with the capability to impact and motivate others, both within the cooperative, business arena and community.
•The ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors.
•Five years of senior management experience required, preferably in a rural electric utility environment.
•Undergraduate degree is strongly preferred or equivalent education combined with relative progressive leadership experience. 

The individual selected will lead a full-time staff of 27 employees who provide electric service to over 9,000 consumers over nearly 1,000 miles of line in four counties. The cooperative is a member of Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc., the statewide association of Ohio’s electric cooperatives, Buckeye Power, Inc. and is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative.


Firelands Electrical Cooperative is headquartered in New London located between Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo, Ohio serving members in Ashland, Huron and Richland Counties. The service territory is primarily rural agricultural – based with urban areas in each county with multiple options for shopping, churches, strong public schools, higher education, entertainment.
