Job Title: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Division Manager

Samsun Mechanical, Inc is a family owned business, operating in the Indianapolis Area since 1986.  Most of our clientele is in the supermarket and retail industry.  We have two main Divisions: HVAC/R Install and HVAC/R Service.  This position we are looking to fill will primarily encompass the HVAC/R Installation Division.  We need a person that can effectively manage and execute all aspects of that particular Division.   Someone who holds a VAST knowledge and experience in the trade.  This individual works in the office but also, at times if necessary, in the field.

Job Duties:

  • Manage and execute all aspects of the Division.
  • Supervise and lead a team of staff who install, repair, and maintain heating and air conditioning systems, primarily in commercial buildings.
  • Manage and co-ordinate those teams, including assisting H/R in hiring new employees and training staff.
  • Manage individual schedule, as well as teams.
  • Keep all projects on-time, and on budget.
  • Manage scope ensuring any changes are appropriately handled.
  • Create a structure and organization for the management of a complex environment with emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency.
  • Ensure that the project plan maintains tasks, schedules, estimates, and status.
  • Oversee all HVAC/Mechanical projects from conception to completion.
  • Schedule and coordinate all design and construction processes.
  • Monitor progress of projects and ensure compliance with plans and schedules.
  • Meet regularly with owners, other constructors, trade contractors, vendors, engineers, and others to monitor and coordinate all phases of the construction project.
  • Meet goals and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Bid projects and implement.
  • Develop solutions to HVAC/Mechanical problems and must give instructions to staff on how to implement those solutions.
  • Work on computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

 Requirements:

  • 10-years of experience
  • EPA Universal Certification required
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug-screen, criminal background check, and DMV check.
  • Extensive experience in commercial build outs
  • Experience managing, planning and bringing construction projects in on time and on budget.
  • Estimating, budgeting and scheduling experience.
  • A solid background in Mechanical/HVAC Management.
  • Ability to coordinate and monitor the execution of construction project activities.
  • Able to read blueprints, spec books and do take-offs
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of applicable software, including the Programs listed above
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Able to multi-task and detail orientated
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Able to meet deadlines, prepare submittals, pull permits, and change orders; ultimately see projects through from conception to completion

 Additional Skills Desired:

  • Quality Assurance, Safety and Regulatory expertise a plus.
  • Managerial courses/Trade Specific continuing education and/or Licensing preferred.
  • Previous estimation and managerial experience preferred.
