The Ruhlin Company is seeking to hire a Surveyor for its Civil Division. Must be willing to travel as needed.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary: Provide surveying service to ensure construction work complies with design drawings
Expected Outcomes:
- Assigned projects are completed on time
- Surveying results are accurate
- Safety goals are achieved
Position Responsibilities:
- Provides work control lines and elevations that are required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by crafts, i.e., forms for concrete pours, anchor bolts, wall lines, footers, utilities, beams, dirt work, etc.
- Provides checking of as-built conditions that require the use of surveying techniques
- Provides topographic and cross-section surveys as required for planning and payment quantities
- Provides quantity calculations as required
- Documents surveying activities, plan changes and modifications
- Maintains surveying equipment
- Supervises surveying technician and surveying trainee personnel
- Coordinates surveying activities with the assigned superintendent to meet the construction requirements
- Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, values and goals
- Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 2 years minimum survey experience, construction survey experience preferred
- Working knowledge of GPS equipment, robotic total stations, and willingness to learn new types of surveying equipment
- CAD experience a plus
- Ability to accurately read construction drawings and make calculations
- Effective communication skills
- Must be willing to travel as needed
