Job Description: 

 The design consultant works one-on-one with customers to plan, design and furnish residential homes.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Consult with clients to determine style preferences, lifestyle choices, the scope of the project investment plan and other factors
  • Provide in-home design services to assure accurate measurements are taken, while considering traffic patterns, natural lighting, furniture and accessories needs
  • Advise client on interior design factors, including space planning, layout, furnishings and color schemes
  • Construct design presentations with digital floor plan, including estimates, for clients’ approval
  • Order furnishings, art, area rugs, and accessories for clients’ homes
  • Process orders effectively and efficiently utilizing the computer system
  • Interact professionally with customers, coworkers, managers and other departments
  • Reach monthly furniture protection sales requirements
  • Maintain a professional, positive manner and appearance at all times
  • The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned

 

Job Requirements

We are looking for a solid, reliable worker with a strong work ethic and a positive, engaging personality. You must be highly organized and detail-oriented while still being able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 Specific qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales or related field preferred.
  • Broad range knowledge of furniture and furniture styles preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints/renderings and documents.
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends based on business needs.
  • Effectively maintain constant communication with client during and after designing process.

 

Physical expectations:

  • Standing, walking, driving, and potentially communicating for long periods of time.

 Environmental conditions:

  • Will work indoors.
  • Conditions may include hot/cold temperatures, dusty surroundings and noisy work environment.

 

Background check and pre-employment drug screen are required.
