Job Description:
The design consultant works one-on-one with customers to plan, design and furnish residential homes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Consult with clients to determine style preferences, lifestyle choices, the scope of the project investment plan and other factors
- Provide in-home design services to assure accurate measurements are taken, while considering traffic patterns, natural lighting, furniture and accessories needs
- Advise client on interior design factors, including space planning, layout, furnishings and color schemes
- Construct design presentations with digital floor plan, including estimates, for clients’ approval
- Order furnishings, art, area rugs, and accessories for clients’ homes
- Process orders effectively and efficiently utilizing the computer system
- Interact professionally with customers, coworkers, managers and other departments
- Reach monthly furniture protection sales requirements
- Maintain a professional, positive manner and appearance at all times
- The above responsibilities and additional duties may vary as assigned
Job Requirements:
We are looking for a solid, reliable worker with a strong work ethic and a positive, engaging personality. You must be highly organized and detail-oriented while still being able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Specific qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales or related field preferred.
- Broad range knowledge of furniture and furniture styles preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/renderings and documents.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends based on business needs.
- Effectively maintain constant communication with client during and after designing process.
Physical expectations:
- Standing, walking, driving, and potentially communicating for long periods of time.
Environmental conditions:
- Will work indoors.
- Conditions may include hot/cold temperatures, dusty surroundings and noisy work environment.
Background check and pre-employment drug screen are required.
