SUMMARY:


This position is responsible for providing high quality engineering designs per specifications, standards, budgets and schedules, and/or providing central software support for Environmental, Electrical, IT Infrastructure and Access/Security critical applications, as well as participating on a team to design, install and service automation / monitoring / control and facility management systems.



PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Assist in developing software/hardware standards and streamline processes

  • Designs software code at a basic level and hardware submittals of an intermediate level, or of an expert level with mentor support
  • Provide technical support to other team members
  • Assist inside/outside sales team member is RFP, scope requirements and estimating processes.
  • Signature level authority as indicated by the Authorization Level Document

The work is mostly sedentary. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However while on job sites individuals may have to move over rough or uneven surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy to light items. Transporting of items such as a laptop computer and luggage; driving an automobile, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the primary duties of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Employee may work in different environments while on various job sites.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate, intermittent travel to job sites  is required  depending on the project needs.  Travel will require employees to qualify for air travel, overnight stays and procurement of rental car.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, skills and/or abilities required. An individual must meet the minimum requirements as listed in each Qualifications subsection.


EDUCATION:

BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science or related technology field; or related work experience required.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Advanced  BAS, FMS or SCADA product knowledge and automation system vendor hardware knowledge required.
  • Advanced understanding of HVAC, Electrical, access or other building or electronic control systems.
  • Advanced understanding of BAS, FMS or SCADA software applications.

 

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE SHOWN PREFERENCE:

  • Object oriented programming language - .NET, JAVA
  • Procedural / application automation programming experience – Visual Basic, VBA, Scripting, SQL
  • PLC and HMI programming – ICONICS, IFIX, RSVIEW, WONDERWARE, IEC1131, 984
  • Knowledge of field I/O, Sensors, Actuators, Transmitters and other automation appurtenances.
  • Experience mentoring, developing and supervising people in a team environment.
